Registered Psychologist

Annie Ploughman is a clinical psychologist who offers counselling and psychotherapy to individuals and couples. She also provides professional supervision to intern psychologists.

Annie specialises in working with people struggling with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, abuse, gay and lesbian issues, relationship issues, low self-esteem, parenting difficulties, fertility problems, eating disorders and/or drug/alcohol problems.

She works with the utmost respect and compassion for her clients, enabling them to feel cared for and safe as they explore both current problems and their life stories. Annie understands that when one’s problems feel intolerable, one can feel extremely vulnerable. It is with this sensitivity that she encourages her clients’ search for understanding, meaning and relief from emotional pain.

In using a combination of narrative and experiential therapies (including action/body work) Annie facilitates the development of insight, personal empathy and responsibility. Through this process a person can learn to live in a way which creates and supports their happiness and wellbeing.

Prior to beginning in private practice Annie worked extensively with people struggling to free themselves from drug and alcohol dependence and those living with disability. She has practiced meditation and yoga for many years and continues to value and work towards her own professional, emotional and spiritual development.

Annie can be contacted on 0403121569 or email annieploughman@optusnet.com.au
