Margie Stuchbery is a counseling psychologist with a background in
medical and health sciences. Margie uses an empathic approach to
keep people safe while they explore alternative ways of
experiencing, living and relating. Margie works with people to
develop a warm, safe therapeutic relationship where emotional and
relational difficulties can be explored and a greater understanding
of oneself develop.
Margie has particular experience in working with
people who have suffered from depression, anxiety and relationship
difficulties. As an adjunct to individual therapy, Margie can offer
a family systems approach to resolving and transforming family
relationships, even after one has left home! This systems approach
is useful for managing all relationships, including those in the
workplace, where power in relationships can exert a negative impact
on emotional wellbeing.
Margie has also had many years of experience
working with families, particularly those where a parent suffers
from postnatal depression. Drawing on this experience Margie
conducts workshops, writes papers, prepares educational materials
and gives conference presentations on postnatal depression,
parenting and the mother-infant relationship. Margie has specialist
training in family therapy, mother-infant relationship therapy and
psychotherapy.
Margie provides individual, couple and family
therapy and clinical supervision.
